Welcome to State!

When you live on campus at MSU, you build a lifetime of memories and form relationships you’ll never forget. Experience an open community to learn and grow as an individual and enjoy the shared the common experiences of all Spartans.  All kinds of students live on campus including transfer, graduate/professional, international and returning students…creating a diverse and very exciting atmosphere for learning and discovery.

Far from impersonal, each hall has its own character and perks. Did you know Butterfield has air-conditioning, larger rooms AND parking right outside? Williams Hall has kitchenettes on each floor. McDonel and Van Hoosen are geared for returning students. Owen Hall is perfect for those over 21...housekeeping service and an a la carte food plan are features students love. Students with families will find a warm welcome in University Apartment villages.

Don’t let our size fool you—each area of the campus is organized into zones (as in comfort zone). East, South, Red Cedar, Brody, West Circle—regardless of where you live, you’ll find a home and people that care about you, great food, ample employment opportunities and plenty of fun things to do. Check out the Campus Life section for all the details and if you’re inclined take a peek at the Resources section for helpful links and stuff like “policies and procedures”.

Whether you are a traditional freshman, graduate, transfer or international or a student with family responsibilities, beyond the bricks and mortar of the nation’s largest housing system—MSU housing has a place for everyone.
