Yes, we hire students. In fact, the Division of Housing and Food Service hires nearly 5000 students each year for a variety of jobs. All employers will work around the student’s academic requirements and a new schedule is developed for finals week.

Jobs do provide students with a needed balance for time management and the social skills required for our fast-paced world.  Students working part-time have a higher GPA than non-working students.  The entry-level student can earn over $3000 per year working only 15 hours per week.  And students with advanced positions can earn over $8000!

MSU students can work up to 29 hours per week during the academic year, with the opportunity for full-time employment during holiday and semester breaks. Please note that international students are limited to 20 hours per week during the school year.

Students need to have a photo ID, such as a student ID, and original Social Security card in order to work anywhere on campus.
