The Origins of MSU Concessions
MSU Concessions became a department of the University in 1946 and was originally overseen by the Manager of the MSU Union. The department was operated out of the Central Services building along with University Food Stores. In 1958, Concessions merged with the South Campus Grill in the Short Course Dormitory and moved its operation to that location.
In 1965, the South Campus Grill, now the Food Court at the International Center, moved into the newly opened International Center with Concessions as a part of its operation. In 1985, the Department of Auxiliary Operations was created and combined Concessions, Crossroads Cafeteria, the Canoe Shelter, Forest Akers foodservice, and vending operations. In 1989, Concessions moved to the Breslin Center, where its main office is currently located.
